Why Intermodal Rail

💰

Cheaper Long-Haul

On 1,000+ mile lanes, rail typically costs well below truckload — bigger savings on volume.

📦

Full-Container Door-to-Door

53' rail containers, full-container moves. Pickup, rail and delivery in one all-in price.

🌎

US / MX / CA Cross-Border

Cross-border intermodal across the US, Mexico and Canada (customs handled separately).

📍

Container Tracking

Picked up → on rail → at destination ramp → delivered, with milestone visibility.

🌱

Greener

Rail emits far less CO₂ per ton-mile than highway — good for ESG goals.

Pairs with Drayage

Seamless with our port drayage and inland delivery — import containers all the way to your door.

When to Use Rail (vs Truckload)

✅Long-haul (~1,000+ miles) where 1–3 extra days are OK — rail saves money.
✅Full-container volume and heavier freight — rail weight limits tend to be more forgiving than over-the-road limits, especially for import containers moving inland from port.
✅Recurring, predictable lanes — lock in fixed lane rates.
🚛Urgent, short-haul or time-critical — consider Truckload (TL)。
Not a Good Fit for Intermodal Rail
⚠️Time-critical freight on a tight deadline — intermodal rail typically takes a few extra days versus straight truckload.
⚠️Freight with strict delivery appointment windows — think certain big-box retailers or Amazon FBA appointment slots — rail's inherent schedule flexibility doesn't mesh well with hard appointment windows.
⚠️Fragile goods like glass and other cargo sensitive to sustained vibration or resonance damage — rail transport has a different vibration pattern than trucking, and precision or fragile items can be more susceptible. Truckload or LTL is usually the better fit.
ℹ️For higher-risk cargo, cargo insurance is also worth considering.
